The world’s first connected toothbrush was developed with wisdom of the crowd
Procter & Gamble launched the Oral-B SmartSeries 7000, the world’s first connected electric toothbrush, which connects via Bluetooth Smart technology to the Oral-B app, creating a simple and intuitive combination of hardware and software.
A toothbrush inspired by consumers’ ideas
The development of the connected toothbrush got help from 67 ideas. Oral-B uncovered strong needs for more personalized dental regimens, eagerness to learn proper techniques and a strong desire to turn a chore into enjoyment, often through ramification of the brushing experience.
Where did the ideas come from?
The 67 ideas were submitted to a contest in which Oral-B invited eYeka creators to talk about what an electric toothbrush that can connect to the Internet should offer to change their lives for the better. In 22 days Oral-B received 67 ideas from 28 countries.
